Wreck-It Ralph proved to be the big winner at this year's Annie Awards.
Hosted by the Association Internationale du Film d’ Animation- Hollywood, the Annie’s honored excellence in animation through over 30 categories.
Disney’s video game inspired Wreck-It Ralph follows the story of an arcade game villain who wants a chance to be the hero. As Ralph spends his screen time searching for a virtual medal, the film brought home five awards of it’s own.
While Wreck-It Ralph won the overall Best Animated Feature award, it also received awards for direction, music, writing, and the voice acting of Alan Tudyk, according to HitFix.
Movie goers who made it out to see Wreck-It Ralph most likely also saw the winner of the Best Animated Short Subject Award, Paperman, which was shown in theaters before the start of Wreck-It Ralph.
ParaNorman, Rise of the Guardians, and Brave also received several awards. What do these awards predict for the Academy Awards? According to Variety, it is difficult to predict who will take home the Oscar as the awards have shown no clear favorite as of yet.
