Ever wonder how E.L. James wrote the world’s biggest publishing phenomenon, Fifty Shades of Grey? Well, now’s your chance. The author is publishing a journal that will help writers learn how to fine-tune their craft.
According to The Associated Press, James and Vintage Books said Monday that they will publish Fifty Shades of Grey: Inner Goddess (A Journal). It is set to hit bookstores on May 1.
Vintage says that the book will be published as “a bonded leather” journal that aims to offer "readers and aspiring writers a place where they can record their innermost thoughts,” reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The journal will include selections from the Fifty Shades books, sections on each character and even the playlist James listened to while writing.
Vintage publisher Anne Messitte said in a statement that James’ “personal story as a writer is inspirational to many women, and journaling has been an important part of her creative process from the start.”
The Fifty Shades books have sold 70 million copies worldwide and Universal is currently working on a film adaptation.
