ABC chooses the next 'Bachelorette' to follow in the footsteps of Emily Maynard

After Sean Lowe proposed to his now-fiance Catherine Guidici on the finale of The Bachelor on Monday night, ABC announced the next Bachelorette.

Following in the heels of Emily Maynard, whose engagement to Jef Holm has since ended, host Chris Harrison announced Lowe cast-off Desiree Hartsock will be the next woman to search for love on the ABC show.

“I just can't even believe I'm here. With the support of everyone, it's just such a blessing," she said after the announcement at the After the Rose show, NY Daily News reports. "I could never have imagined signing up for The Bachelor and having this opportunity."

Hartsock went on to say that there’s no hard feelings for Lowe and his soon-to-be bride. "I'm so happy for them," she said. "I could only hope to have the love that they've found and I am very hopeful in all of this. And I do hope to meet the man of my dreams."
