Actress Gwyneth Paltrow discussed for the first time the heartache she endured after suffering a miscarriage with her third child in a new interview.
Paltrow, who is married to Coldplay front man Chris Martin, is already a mother to Apple, 8, and Daily Mail feels that she is “missing” her third child; however, her devastating miscarriage makes her question the benefits of trying for another.
"But I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third,” she added. “It didn’t work out and I nearly died.”
Not only does she hesitate at returning to the diaper-changing phase of motherhood but also acknowledges that now, at the age of forty, it will be more and more difficult to have a child.
“I think I may have missed the window … I feel like I’m out of the baby phase,” she said.
According to the Huffington Post, Paltrow expressed that whether or not she has another child, she is lucky to have a great man as a partner in parenting.
“[Martin] is so good to the children, and to know that you had kids with such a good man is like a real weight off you,” Paltrow gushed. “We are committed co-parents, we make all the decisions together and we lean on each other for support as well."
Paltrow and Martin are among the few celebrity couples that don’t employ a nanny to care for their children. The value she places on parenting, especially a strong father figure, relates back to the “love of your life” relationship she had with her father, Bruce. Although he died in 2002, Paltrow said she still feels his absence daily.
