After Alyson Hannigan was granted a temporary restraining order from a man in New Hampshire, a judge decided that a longer sentence was necessary.

As we previously reported, 43-year-old John Hobbs threatened harm to both Hannigan and her family, even insinuating both murder and rape. The How I Met Your Mother star claimed that Hobbs “posted a barrage of threatening messages directed at me and my family on various websites." It was stated that Hobbs posted threats on his MySpace and Facebook page, as well as Hannigan's personal website.

After receiving a temporary restraining order from the actress last month, the Associated Press reports that Hobbs now received a three year sentence to stay away from Hannigan and her family. Hannigan is married to her former Buffy the Vampire Slayer costar Alexis Denisof, with whom she has two young daughters with.

The Associated Press notes that during the hearing, Hobbs was forbidden to post anything about the actress online. It was reported that Hannigan did not attend the meeting.
