‘American Idol’ Beatles episode keeps Fox ahead of CBS’ ‘Criminal Minds’ and ‘Survivor’ in TV ratings

American Idol had its Beatles episode last night, with the Top 9 contestants doing their best Fab Four covers. The show was only down a bit from last week and managed to just get by CBS.

Idol drew 12.7 million viewers over its two hours and a 3.5 18-49 rating, falling only a tenth of a point from last week’s performance episode, notes Zap2It. You can check out our recap here.

CBS came in right behind with 10.47 million viewers and a 2.6 18-49 rating on the night, according to HitFix. Survivor had 9.59 million viewers and a 2.5 18-49 rating, while Criminal Minds was up to 11.46 million viewers and a 3.0 18-49 rating. CSI, which was just renewed, had 10.37 million viewers and a 2.3 key demo rating, winning the 10 p.m. slot.

NBC managed to come in third with 4.88 million viewers and a 1.4 18-49 rating. A new Whitney had 3.18 million viewers and a 1.1 18-49 rating. LAw & Order: SVU followed with 5.45 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating. As THR notes, Chicago Fire slid three tenths to a 1.7 18-49 rating with 6.3 million viewers.

ABC slid to fourth with just 4 million viewers and a 1.2 18-49 rating. Its line-up was mostly repeats, with a new Neighbors and Suburgatory. The Neighbors had a series-low 4.67 million viewers and a 1.4 18-49 rating. Suburgatory had 4.21 million and a 1.5 18-49 rating.

The CW’s Arrow had 2.89 million viewers and a 0.9 18-49 rating. Supernatural drew 2.14 million viewers and the same key demo rating.
