The girls who were eliminated on this season of The Bachelor held nothing back as they returned to talk about Sean, Tierra, and each other.
Chris Harrison and Sean enjoyed surprising fans in the Los Angeles area by randomly showing up on their doorstep while they were hosting viewing parties. The most memorable moment for them was entering a Delta Gamma sorority house near the UCLA campus and watching the elated expressions on the girls’ faces. Sean feels humbled that so many people are rooting for him to find love.
Harrison noted that the girls seemed to bond quickly over a common enemy: Tierra.
Desiree never anticipated the drama, and optimistically thought they would all be able to get along. Lesley M. was aware that drama was inevitable, but wanted to stay out of it. Looking back, Robin admits she should have ignored Tierra because stressing over her caused her to lose focus on her relationship with Sean.
At this point in the episode, the most talked about women of the season took the hot seat to answer questions from Chris and the other contestants.
Tierra’s side of the story:
Tierra was brought out from backstage to share her perspective. Harrison warned the audience and other women to hear her out.
Tierra explained that she felt she had a target on her back from the very first night when she received the first impression rose before entering the mansion. Normally, she lights up and brings joy to those around her when she feels comfortable, but here she sensed she was immediately misjudged. Moreover, she had no particular interest in being friends with her competition.
In the end, Tierra believed she was the bigger person because everyone except for her talked about one another behind each other’s backs. She could not think of a single instance she regrets or would like to apologize for.
Robin calls Tierra “delusional” and Selma admitted she used to not mind her, but she could no longer protect Tierra after she continuously gave her dirty looks and rejected her attempts at friendship.
Tierra gave up understanding the girls because everything she said was wrong in their eyes.
She gave a half-hearted apology for giving them the impression that she didn’t want to be friends with them. She admitted she could find ways to better herself and, because she came in scared and nervous, she probably did not handle herself well on the show.
Harrison noticed an engagement ring on Tierra’s ringer, and Tierra confirmed her status. She has been engaged since January to a previous boyfriend. The two had needed separation, and rekindled the flame when she returned from The Bachelor.
In response to viewers thinking her romance is a hoax, Tierra replied, “It’s the real deal. I got a good man. That’s all that matters.”
Sarah’s heartbreak:
Although she only had one arm, her larger than life heart stole America’s heart. In the end, however, her future with Sean was not meant to be.
It was extremely difficult for Sarah to watch the break-up video because she was unsure what changed in his mind. She had been vulnerable and opened up to him with stories she had never even revealed to her best friends. She had thought he was ‘The One’, and was blindsided when he sent her home. She reasoned it must have been because of her disability.
In the end, she was grateful for the experience because she learned self-acceptance, and hopes to spread that message to viewers everywhere.
Desiree’s disastrous hometown date:
Desiree had been falling in love with Sean because their values and futures perfectly matched.
Her brother had been skeptical of the experience. Although he is naturally an intense and stubborn person, he ultimately regretted the way he came off toward Sean.
While Desiree could not say for certain her brother’s demeanor was the deciding factor in Sean’s decision to send her home, it did sabotage her relationship.
Now, she is open to finding love and is eager to embrace her future.
AshLee’s angry departure:
When AshLee was eliminated in the last episode, she left in a hurry, and Sean did not have a chance to explain himself.
In the moment, she revealed she had no idea what to say to him. Like Sarah, she was blindsided. In fact, he had proposed to her that night, she would have said yes in a heartbeat.
Although he was a Southern gentleman around her, she was disappointed to discover he acted like a frat boy around the other women. It left her wondering what side of him was his true self, and what part he was faking.
However, she is not still in love with him. She has had time to reel in her feelings and move on.
Sean’s arrival:
Sean was anxious and eager to see all of the women because he has nothing but great memories of them, but he understood the feelings of excitement were not mutual.
He first set the record straight with AshLee, admitting he couldn’t “find the laughter,” between them and thus could not see himself starting a family with her.
She was extremely upset that he did not check up on her to see how she was after he sent her home. He disagreed, saying that his visit would have exacerbated the problem. He knew that she was a strong woman and, with time, could reign in her emotions.
Next, AshLee dropped a bomb, revealing that Sean told her in the fantasy suite that he had no feelings for the other two women. She later revised the dialogue to “There’s nothing between us.”
Sean was seemingly tense and suspicious, denying her claims. He was afraid her statement would make America think he was a playboy.
Finally, he spoke fondly of Desiree. He could not help but smile when he talks to her. He laughed remembering how the social media world “beat him up” when he sent her home. The chemistry between them is obvious, but they agreed they are just friends and wish nothing but the best for each other.
What do you think Sean really told AshLee in the fantasy suite? Is she spouting off nonsense because she is still upset at how he ended things with her, or was he playing the field and telling the women exactly what they wanted to hear? And who do you think will win Sean’s heart in the final episode next week: Catherine or Lindsay?
