Quebec is a beautiful city to visit, full of history and European charm. If you're going to visit this Canadian city, we recommend Best Western Plus City Centre.
Situated in the hip St. Roche District, the hotel's location is ideal for touring Quebec as it's walking distance to Old Quebec as well as exploring St. Roche's restaurants and shops. Within minutes you can walk to seasonal events such as the New-France Festival, the Summer Festival and the winter carnival. It's also close to the cruise terminal and the rail station.
First impressions are important, and we were satisfied with what we saw. The hotel was clean and quiet, and the fitness and pool areas were well maintained. Check in was streamlined and quick. A major plus was a very attentive valet car service. When you are in Quebec City in February you want to walk from your heated car right into a heated building. If you do not want to spend the $20 a day for parking there is free parking available from 5pm until 10am.
Although breakfast is not included, the café downstairs made delicious coffee, plus you can choose from a wide selection of beans. It's a great place to people watch or work (wifi) and enjoy an excellent cup of coffee.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone not only greeted you but asked how your day was. They went above and beyond to give directions and recommendations, and spoke both French and English.
Our room was spotless and in perfect condition. We stayed in a room with two queen beds, a desk and sitting area besides a very roomy bathroom. The beds were incredibly comfortable and came with plenty of plush pillows. Housekeeping was always generous when it came to replenishing the toiletries and the cleaning service was top notch.
In short, the Best Western Plus, with its prime location and outstanding service, was an excellent value for the money.
