Bobby Brown checks into jail

By Ezekiel Hernandez,
He probably won't serve the whole sentence, according to Sherrif sources.

Bobby Brown has reportedly turned himself in at a Van Nuys Courthouse to begin serving a jail sentence stemming from a DUI charge.

Brown is set to do a 55-day jail sentence, but according to a source inside the Los Angeles Sherrif Department, he could be out in a few days and get put on electronic monitoring, NY Daily News reports.

A worker at the court told reporters that Brown went in very quietly and without incident do his scheduled surrender date.

He'll likely be out soon since L.A. County jails are gravely over-crowded and usually have to let non-violent offenders out in a small fraction of their sentence.

Brown, a successful musician in his own right, is still best known for being Whitney Houston's drug-addled and troubled ex-husband.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Brown was given the sentence for a DUI charge, driving without a license, and violating probation from another DUI conviction.

According to the Times report, both DUI arrests happened in 2012 the San Fernando Valley.
