Britney Spears tweets congratulations to newly-engaged sister Jamie Lynn

Britney Spears, who recently announced she was splitting with her fiancé Jason Trawick, isn’t letting her unlucky love life hinder her from being happy for her younger sister Jamie Lynn.

Spears, 31, took to Twitter to congratulate Jamie Lynn, 21, on her engagement to Jamie Watson. She wrote “So excited and happy for my sister, congrats@jamielynnspears - love you.”

Over the weekend, the former Zoey 101 actress took to her Twitter page to announced her engagement. On Sunday she wrote, “Guesssss what??????” and attached a picture of herself with her new fiancé, showing off her ring.

She then wrote “:) #hedidgood” and posted a close-up of the ring. This morning, she tweeted “#blessed #blessed #blessed :)”

E! Online reports that Jamie Lynn, who has a 4-year-old daughter Maddie, was previously engaged to her daughter’s father Casey Aldridge. They called it quits in 2010.

In January, the “Scream & Shout” singer announced she and Trawick were calling off their engagement and she’s since been seen out with David Lucado.
