Brooklyn man fakes his own kidnapping

A man who was afraid of his girlfriend staged his own kidnapping.

Rahmell Pettway, 36, had not contacted his girlfriend for the past two weeks and chose desperate measures in order to not face the music.

New York Post reported that Pettway was found in the middle of the street tied up with duct tape. At first he told police that he didn’t remember what happened, but then said that two men had abducted him in a minivan and kidnapped him on February 19th.

Police had sent Pettway to the hospital when they became a little suspicious. They noticed that the entire roll of duct tape was still wrapped around his wrists, as stated in Neatorama.

The man later on admitted to his tall tale and there have been no reports as to how his girlfriend accepted the news.

A member of the New York law enforcement stated that the man is “a total moron,” and the kidnapping was “a pathetic attempt to pull the wool [over the girlfriend’s] eyes.”
