Could it be true? The country/pop singer Taylor Swift, who has become known for her down-to-earth nature, reportedly wore an $895 t-shirt in her new music video for the song "22." What’s even more surprising is that the t-shirt sold out online in just one day after the music video’s release!
The shirt, which reads, “Not a lot going on at the moment,” was designed by Ashish Gupta and is covered in sequins, according to E! Online. The shirt was featured in the opening scene of the video and was paired with a black hat and Swift’s signature red lipstick. Ironically, Swift sings, “It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters,” while wearing the shirt, but it’s doubtful that hipsters would approve of Swift’s spending choices.
Fans certainly went crazy for the shirt, however, and one girl wrote on the Taylor Swift forums page, “I just watched the 22 video and LOVE her 'not a lot going on at the moment' tshirt…anyone know where I can find it?!” Luckily for fans, retailer Colette will receive more shirts in about two weeks.
The music video features some of Swift’s best friends, including former Gossip Girl actress, Jessica Szohr, reports Just Jared. The now 23-year-old singer debuted the video on Good Morning America in anticipation of her Red tour.
