CBS has opted to keep Golden Boy on Tuesdays, moving the Dennis Quaid-starring Vegas to Fridays.
CBS’ original plan was to air the first two episodes of Golden Boy on Tuesdays, then premiere the show this Friday in its regular time slot at 9 p.m. and Vegas would return on March 12.
However, the new plan keeps Golden Boy at Tuesdays at 10 p.m. for the rest of the season. Vegas will take the Friday 9 p.m. slot, but won’t come back until April 5, following the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament.
A new episode of Golden Boy will still air tomorrow night.
While Golden Boy’s episode this week did lose viewers after its pilot aired last week, it still drew 9.27 million viewers and a 1.6 18-49 rating, following episodes of NCIS and NCIS: LA.
Golden Boy features Theo James as a New York detective who quickly rises the ranks and becomes the youngest New York police commissioner in history. Chi McBride, Kevin Alejandro, Bonnie Somerville, Holt McCallany and Stella Maeve co-star.
Vegas is set in the 1960s and has Quaid as a sheriff going against the mob, run by Michael Chiklis.
