Chris Brown is 'eternally grateful and thankful' for Rihanna taking him back

Chris Brown is opening up about winning back Rihanna after being arrested for assaulting her in 2009. They are now back together, but he explained on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show today that it didn’t happen overnight.

“I just tried my best to be the best man I could be over the years and just show her how remorseful and sorry I was for the incident,” he admitted, although both he and the “Diamonds” singer dated other people in that time frame.

He continued of that incident three years ago, “That time was probably the worst part of my life,” adding, “She’s a wonderful person I’m eternally grateful and thankful.”

Entertainmentwise reports that he also talked a little about their relationship now.

“It’s still like we’re kids,” he said. “I try not to be too grown and be like, ‘Lets have candlelight dinner every night.’ I try to make sure everything is fun. It has to be fun and it has to be genuine.”

He also didn’t blame beating up Rihanna on his young age, he says, “I think it’s about a learning process now. Being at that young age I can tell you I was arrogant and definitely hotheaded."

He went on to say, "Everybody has a temper, but for me it was not knowing how to control it when I thought I had the world in my hands.”

Rihanna has also publicly talked about their relationship, telling Rolling Stone, “We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about s---. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that.”
