This year’s Tribeca Film Festival will host a collection of big-name stars for its Tribeca Talks series. Among the directors and stars scheduled to speak are Clint Eastwood, Whoopi Goldberg, Ellen Page and Richard Linklater.
Each "Tribeca Talks" series will include several events, notes The Wrap. Eastwood will be interviewed by Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, Noah) after a screening of Eastwood Directs: The Untold Story in the “Directors Series.” Linklater will chat with his Before Midnight stars, Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke. Jay Roach (Game Change) will talk with Ben Stiller, and Mira Nair (The Reluctant Fundamentalist) will talk with Bryce Dallas Howard (The Help).
“Tribeca Talks: After the Movie” will include eight films, headlined by Paul Verhoeven's Tricked. Other films in this section include Goldberg’s Moms Mabley documentary I Got Somethin’ to Tell You and Wadja, the first Saudi film directed by a woman. The director, Haifaa Al-Mansour, will be on hand to chat with Gloria Steinman.
Page will be there to talk about Beyond: Two Souls, a videogame she stars in with Willem DaFoe.
Other “Tribeca Talks” sections include “After the Movie, Beyond the Screens, the Artist’s Angle,” focusing on documentaries; “Industry,” focusing on various topics within the industry; and “Pen to Paper,” focusing on writing.
The Tribeca Film Festival, co-founded by actor Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal, runs from April 17-28 in New York.
