After landing a guest role on the CW's latest hit, Arrow, it was announced that actor Colton Haynes will now be a series regular on the show. Haynes portrays the character of Roy Harper, a troubled teenager who catches the eye of Thea Queen, main character Oliver Queen's rebellious younger sister.

According to Entertainment Weekly, both the CW and Warner Bros. announced that Haynes would remain a guest star for the current season but will play an essential role in the future.

The former model spoke to The Hollywood Reporter in February about his character, saying, “Having a younger character like Roy on the show could appeal to a wider audience -- plus, his relationship with Thea is really blossoming. I'm very hopeful.” It seems that Haynes was spot-on when predicting the impact of his character.

Haynes took to his Twitter account to share his excitement about the casting news.

When Haynes first got the role of Roy Harper, it was mentioned he is “destined to become a significant part of [Thea Queen's] life and an important player in the larger world of Arrow."

Haynes previously played high-school-jock-turned-werewolf Jackson Whittemore in seasons 1 and 2 of MTV's Teen Wolf. However, in late 2012 it was announced that Haynes was leaving the show, though specific reasons were not stated.
