Cops reveal Brooklyn man's kidnapping was a hoax to deceive his girlfriend

A Brooklyn man staged an elaborate kidnapping this past Thursday. Why? To get out of a pickle with an angry girlfriend, of all things.

According to CBS the man, Rahmell Pettway, 36, was found in Brooklyn, hog-tied between two cars with duct tape.

Pettway claimed that two men in a blue minivan kidnapped him and took him somewhere for two weeks, but he didn’t know where because he was blindfolded.

N.Y. Post reported that the cops were immediately suspicious with Pettway’s story; most apparently, the duct tape binding him was still connected to the roll.

When the cops continued to question him about the situation Pettway caved and admitted he had fabricated the kidnapping to avoid explaining where he had been for two weeks to his girlfriend.

A member of law enforcement said, “He’s a total moron … it was a pathetic attempt to pull the wool [over] her eyes.”

Pettway is arrested on charges of filing a false report with the police.
