ABC’s Dancing with the Stars returned on Monday night, with early ratings showing growth from the fall season, which hit new lows for the series. It managed to grab some viewers from CBS, leading to weak numbers for its Monday sitcoms.
ABC easily won the night, drawing 14.9 million viewers and a 2.8 18-49 rating. DWTS premiered to 16.8 million viewers and a 3.1 18-49 rating, reports The Wrap. While that was up 24 percent from last fall’s ill-conceived All Stars Edition premiere, it was an 11 percent drop from the Spring 2012 premiere. Castle managed to hold on to a few viewers,coming in with 11.2 million viewers and a 2.2 18-49 rating.
CBS was far back in second with just over 8 million viewers and a 2.4 18-49 rating, notes HitFix. How I Met Your Mother kicked off with 7.35 million viewers and a 2.9 18-49 rating, while
In third came Fox with 7.2 million viewers and a 2.2 18-49 rating. Bones fell to 7.3 million viewers and a 2.0 18-49 rating. The Following was also down to 7 million and a 2.4 18-49 rating.
NBC came in fourth with 6 million viewers and a 2.2 18-49 rating. Biggest Loser ended its season with 7.3 million viewers and a 2.6 18-49 rating, up 18 percent from its last season finale, notes Deadline. Deception jumped to 3.5 million viewers and a 1.3 18-49 rating. Next week, The Voice and Revolution are back.
The CW’s Carrie Diaries was up to 1 million viewers and a 0.5 18-49 rating.
