Danny Boyle splits from Rosario Dawson, plans for 2016 'Porno'

Despite calling it quits with Rosario Dawson after a seven month relationship, Danny Boyle has a huge project in the works.

Those close to the couple saw the split as inevitable, reports Perez Hilton.

“It’s all over. It’s very sad, but they were an unlikely couple, in many ways,” an insider commented of the break-up.

The pair’s blossoming romance began last summer on the set of the thriller Trance, a film that 56-year-old Boyle directed and 33-year-old Dawson starred in.

Up next for Boyle, who won the Oscar for Best Director in 2009 for Slumdog Millionaire, is Porno, a film set to be released in 2016 that will be the sequel to Trainspotting, reports Yahoo.

He will be collaborating with John Hodge on the screenplay and hopes to secure the compliance of the original cast to return, which includes Ewan McGregor, Johnny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle, and Kelly Macdonald.

Although the project has been in the works for years, a few obstacles have prevented Boyle from beginning at an earlier date, including the age of the actors and a long-lasting feud with McGregor.

Since the sequel, based on the second novel in the book series by Irvine Welsh, was to take place nine years in the future, Boyle wanted the actors to look the part.

“They're a bit moisturized up and looked after. So when they get a bit older, we'll have a go at sassing it up,” Boyle commented back in 2007.

Additionally, Boyle and McGregor have not been on good terms since 2000 when Boyle gave McGregor’s role in The Beach to Leonardo DiCaprio at the last minute. Despite not smoothing things over by 2011, Boyle believes that there will not be “any barriers” in getting McGregor or any of the other previous cast members to sign on.
