Dave Grohl, his current project the Sound City Players and the Foo Fighters are scheduled for a big performance Tuesday that will shut down Hollywood Boulevard during rush hour. The performance will be featured on a taping for Jimmy Kimmel Live that same night.
Grohl’s critically acclaimed new project features John Fogerty, "Jessie's Girl" singer Rick Springfield, and Rick Nielson from Cheap Trick. According to Broadway World Music, the rest of the Foo Fighters and Krist Novoselic, Grohl’s surviving band mate from Nirvana, will perform alongside the Players as well.
According to an ABC press release, the musical project is glued together by the “Sound City” recording device, made in 1972, that the members each used in their respective musical acts, such as Nirvana, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Cheap Trick.
Tuesday’s performance is free with some online registration to a reported 10,000 fans. The show will take place on the street out in the busy Hollywood strip outside of the Jimmy Kimmel Studios.
