Demi Lovato reveals half-sister during radio interview

X Factor judge Demi Lovato revealed some shocking news while waiting for a flight- she has a half-sister she never knew about until last year.

E! News reports that the former Disney starlet opened up about her half-sister while speaking with WBLI .

Lovato was in the airport awaiting a flight when she called in the interview for the Dana and Jeffery in the Morning show.

Lovato explained, “She's in her thirties. She's my half-sister and I talked to her for the very first time in my life around when I turned 20."

“I asked her, 'Why haven't you ever contacted me?'” the 20-year-old explained, "and she just said, 'Well, because I never wanted you to think I wanted anything from you. So I've just kind of been waiting to see if you wanted a relationship,' and I just thought that was so incredible."

The “Give Your Heart A Break” singer did not mention if she is attempting to build a relationship with her newly dubbed half-sister or where the two are at now.
