‘Django Unchained’ and ‘Ted’ lead 2013 MTV Movie Awards nominations

The Oscars might have been last month, but the 2012 awards season isn’t over until they hand out the popcorn. MTV announced the nominations for the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on Tuesday, with Seth MacFarlane’s Ted and Django Unchained tied for the most nominations.

Both films earned seven nominations. Just behind those two 2012 hits is Silver Linings Playbook. All three films will compete with The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises for movie of the year.

Jennifer Lawrence could add a popcorn trophy to her Silver Linings Playbook prizes, after winning the Oscar for Best Actress. At the MTV Movie Awards, she will compete with Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables), Mila Kunis (Ted), Emma Watson (The Perks of Being A Wallflower) and the show’s host, Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect).

Daniel Day-Lewis, who won an Oscar for Lincoln, leads the male actor category. The other nominees are Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained), Ben Affleck (Argo), Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook) and Channing Tatum (Magic Mike).

The awards have plenty of unique categories, like Best Scared-As-S**t Performance, Best Shirtless Performance and Best WTF Moment.

Wilson is hosting the awards, which will be handed out live on April 14 at the Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City, California.
