Ryan Gosling may be planning on taking a break from acting, but it’s not going to feel that way considering how many projects he already has in the pipeline. One of these is a new film with his Drive director, Nicolas Winding Refn, titled Only God Forgives.
The first shows Kristen Scott Thomas (The English Patient) staring directly at the camera, looking a little threatening behind all those wine glasses.
The second is all Gosling, again, looking straight at the viewer. He’s got his fists up and is ready to punch somebody.
That somebody might just be the ‘Angel of Vengeance,’ who is shown in the third still pulling a sword from his back. Considering Refn’s use of violence in Drive, that sword is probably going to get bloody very quickly.
Gosling recently commented that he is ready to take a break from the big screen, but don’t worry. His next film is the highly-anticipated The Place Beyond The Pines, directed by his Blue Valentine director Derek Cianfrance. It’s set for limited release in the U.S. next week.
He’s also working on his first directing project, How To Catch A Monster and an untitled film directed by Terrence Malick.
