Actor Ed Asner was rushed to the hospital Tuesday after appearing disoriented on stage during his one man show FDR.
Sun Times reports that the 83-year-old actor was performing at Marquette Pavilion in Gary when it appeared he was struggling. Asner began the roughly 45-minute performance and only got 15 minutes into the performance before he was taken off stage and rushed to the hospital.
According to TMZ, the Emmy award-winning actor's son Matt released a statement regarding his father’s condition, saying, “My dad is doing fine. He was rushed to the hospital yesterday for being disoriented on stage."
Continuing, he notes, "He is resting now at an Indiana hospital and is doing well and very grumpy, which with him is always a good thing. He is being assessed right now and what I can say is that it was not a stroke. That much we do know. He was feeling under the weather for a few weeks so he may just need some rest but for now he is just fine."
According to the report, Asner, whose credits include Mary Tyler Moore, lending his voice to Up and Elf, among others, is expected to be released today.
