Eddie Murphy to reunite with Judge Reinhold for ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ pilot

By Daniel S Levine,

Eddie Murphy’s not the only familiar face returning for CBS’ Beverly Hills Cop pilot. Judge Reinhold, who played Axl Rose’s partner Billy Rosewood in the films, will be appearing in the new pilot as well.

While CBS hasn’t confirmed it, sources told The Wrap that Reinhold will make a cameo appearance in the show, which is vying for a slot this fall. His character earned a big promotion, as has Murphy’s.

Murphy is executive producing the series with Shawn Ryan (The Shield). It received a pilot order in January and will focus on Axl Rose’s son, played by Brandon T. Jackson. Comedian Kevin Pollack was also cast as an in-house lawyer for the Beverly Hills cops. Barry Sonnenfeld is directing.

Sony TV is producing with Paramount, which announced earlier this week that it is returning to television production. According to Deadline, Beverly Hills Cop will be the new TV studio’s first production.

Beverly Hills Cop was released in 1984 and was followed by sequels in 1987 and 1994.
