'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' renewed through 2017

The Ellen DeGeneres Show has officially been renewed through the 2016-17 season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Ellen DeGeneres’ hilarious afternoon talk show was picked up by 96 percent of the country including 179 stations and all 10 NBC-owned networks.

The show continuously wins over the key demographic, women 25-42, and continues to rise year after year.

Ken Werner, president of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution released a statement following the announcement saying, “Ellen is quite simply the best. Day in and day out she and her team produce a unique and compelling hour of entertainment which is appointment television for legions of women. We are absolutely thrilled that NBC, Ellen, Warner Bros. and all of our station partners will be continuing our successful relationship for years to come."

Valari Staab, president of NBC-owned TV stations called the afternoon talk show the “crown jewel,” The Associated Press reports.

Currently in its 10th season, DeGeneres will sit down this week with Jessica Alba, Kellie Pickler, Bethenny Frankel, Trey Songz, Halle Berry, Jennifer Love Hewwitt, Cheryl Burke and Joel McHale.
