Former Titans cheerleader Elizabeth Leigh Garner accused of sexually assaulting 12-year-old boy

By Daniel S Levine,

Elizabeth Leigh Garner, a former cheerleader for the Tennessee Titans NFL team, has been accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy.

According to NewsChannel5, CBS’ Nashville affiliate, Garner, 42, claims she is innocent. But Murfreesboro, Tenn. police say that she followed a 12-year-old boy into the bathroom of a friend’s house last month, fondled him and attempted to seduce him.

TMZ goes into more intimate detail, reporting that Garner is accused of grabbing his penis and trying to perform oral sex. The boy told his mother, who quickly reported the incident to police.

Police say Garner told detectives she was “drunk that evening and that she got the boy confused with a man that was also at the residence.”

Kyle Evans of the Murfreesboro police told Channel 5, “That's just absolutely no excuse for sexual assaulting a child. If you can't tell the difference between a 12-year-old and an adult then there are problems.”

Garner was released on $30,000 bond. CBS News reports that she could be sentenced to eight years in jail if found guilty.

Garner is no longer affiliated with the Titans, having only worked for the team during a single season four years ago. At the time, she made headlines for being a 38-year-old in a group of 20-somethings.
