Geena Davis is the most recent celeb to stand up and express her disdain for Seth MacFarlane’s Oscar hosting.
The Associated Press reports that Davis came forward on Monday where she voiced her displeasure for MacFarlane’s performance, which is being called sexist and classless by many disapproving viewers, to the California Assembly. "It's a shame that that triumph was enveloped in an awards ceremony containing disrespect for women,” she expressed. "But it helps illustrate how tone-deaf we can still be regarding the status of women."
Davis' outcry noted the highly controversial “boob song” in addition to noting that his hosting duties took away from Brave, the Oscar winning animated film which focuses on a female leading character.
The A League of Their Own actress’ comments come on the heels of Jamie Lee Curtis’ recent blog post which thoroughly slammed MacFarlane’s choice in handling his duties as judge.
She too emphasized her displeasure with ‘The Boob Song’ which called out actresses who exposed their breasts on film, some in rape scenes.
Curtis claims the Academy only hired MacFarlane for ratings, with no care as to how he would conduct himself on stage.
