‘General Hospital’ weekly recap: Week of 2/25-3/1

Patrick spoke at an AA meeting at the hospital about why he started doing drugs. He said he did it to dull the pain of losing his wife, who died a year ago. He added that because of the drugs he almost lost everything but that he was been able to hold on, 200 days and counting.

Meanwhile, Steve told Olivia on the phone that her wet and wild visions were nothing just as Sabrina ran into him, spilling water all over him. He excused himself to change and later Elizabeth found him sneaking a donut from the AA meeting. He admitted he was stressed about his upcoming violent death and told her about his run-in with Sabrina. He reminded her that Olivia’s visions always came true somehow but Elizabeth reminded him they were open to interpretation. Later, Patrick went to the chapel to light a candle for Robin and Sabrina was there. Sabrina told him how lucky Emma was to have him. Then, she revealed that her mom was her hero, but she died when she was little like Emma. She added that her father couldn’t function and sent her to live with cousins in Puerto Rico. She then said that she admired Patrick for pulling it together for Emma and told her that she thought about her mom all the time and even uses her old stethoscope to keep her close. Patrick then asked her to stay and they lit candles together, one for her mom and one for Robin.

Starr visited the roadside where Cole and Hope died while someone watched her from the woods. Later Michael joined her. He told her that he remembered a year ago when they met after the accident, when he promised to save her family but couldn’t. She apologized for ever making him feel that night was his fault and thanked him for stopping her from shooting Sonny. Then, they reminisced about all of their firsts together and wished on a shooting star. She wished for peace for Cole and Hope. He wished for peace for her. When they left a man emerges and looked at the roadside memorial.

At Olivia's, Kate demanded details about Trey’s final moments and was furious when she learned that Connie was the one who took Trey off life support. She called Connie a symptom and after a couple of crocodile tears she had Sonny in bed with her. She told him that he would be waiting the rest of his life for her because neither of them was ever coming back to him. Then, she ran off and he followed. Later, Olivia opened the door and Heather was there with a huge knife.

At PCPD Anna received word of a break-in at the university, and the description of the perps matched John, Rafe and Lucy.

At the university John read about the hypnosis dream state vampires can communicate in. Lucy said she was at Wyndemere when she dreamed of Caleb and wanted to go there after him. John still didn’t believe he was a vampire, just musician Steven Clay who thought he was a vampire. Lucy told him that was just an alias but John still didn’t buy it. Lucy pointed out some weapons on the wall, so they loaded up and headed out. Anna showed up after and saw the article about escaped mental patient Steven Clay and noticed the missing weapons.

Sam woke up at Wyndemere and Caleb welcomed her home. She had two bite marks on her neck and was very weak. She feared for Danny but Caleb assured her that he would never hurt him. He said that he wanted her to remember who they were to each other. He was her family. He then said that when he slept with Alison and she bore his child, that was Livvie’s fault for making that wish that she tore them apart but they had all eternity to put it back together. He added that she hurt him when she ran off and had a child with “some person” but he would accept her son if she accepted his. He then said it would take three times to taste her blood before it would all come back to her. Then, he bared his fangs and she begged him to leave Danny alone. Lucy and crew arrived and Lucy shouted out to Caleb. She busted into the room but Danny was in there alone. Caleb had Sam in the closet.

Sonny chased Kate to the spot where Connie killed Trey. She told him that she wanted to remember the night he died because she never knew how he lived. She screamed for Sonny to leave but he promised he would stick by her no matter what. She told him that he already left her the minute he slept with Connie. He abandoned her when she was sick and sided with Connie instead but he insisted that he never left Kate – she left him. He added how difficult it was to see her every day and not have her look back at him. Then, he broke down about Jason’s death. She apologized for not being there for him, but she had no control over Connie. He wondered if that was really true and thought she let Connie take over instead of turning to him when she found out about Trey. He then said he wanted to start over but she wanted to mourn alone and asked him to leave.

Elizabeth stabbed Steve in the arm at the hospital with her pen in order to make Olivia’s vision come true. Then, they chatted about his wedding plans and he asked her to be his best man. She was ecstatic and he thanked her for being her. “Now we just had to work on your taste in men,” Steve told Elizabeth. Later, AJ ran into Elizabeth after seeing his new shrink. He told Liz about his session and that he wanted to share things with her.

Heather surprised Olivia at their apartment with a knife. She blamed Olivia for forcing her to replace Steven Lars. Heather said that she just wanted to have some time with Steven, “have some BLTS.” Heather then added that Olivia may have survived the LSD but she wouldn’t survive this. Heather slashed Olivia’s arm just as Steve came home. He rushed to intervene and Heather stabbed him in the gut. Olivia tried to get Steve stable and yelled for Heather to put pressure on the wound while she called for help. The paramedics arrived and Heather snuck off.

Steve was rushed into the hospital and Olivia yelled to Elizabeth that Heather was alive.

Shawn visited Molly at PCPD, but he didn’t have any new word about Sam, Danny or the escapees. Molly was upset that she hurt Alexis and TJ. She said that she was supposed to be the good one. TJ visited Molly and told her that what she did was all over the news. He said that he couldn’t believe she threw her life away over a guy she didn’t even know. Shawn left them alone and Molly tried to defend her actions saying that they were the only people who could save Sam and Danny. He understood but he cared about her and didn’t want to lose what they had because of Rafe Jr.

At Wyndemere, John, Rafe Jr. and Lucy wondered where Sam and Caleb went. It was obvious Danny hadn’t been alone for long. Lucy pulled out her weapons and tried to think where they could be. John thought that they must be in the tunnels. He found the opening and Rafe Jr. helped him push it open. John and Lucy demanded Rafe Jr. stay with Danny and Lucy gave him a St. Michael’s medal to keep them safe. Then, Lucy and John split up in the tunnels and alone, Rafe Jr. chatted with Danny. He said that he missed his mom and knew Danny missed his mom too. Rafe Jr. apologized for handing him over to Heather and later, Heather showed up.

Caleb carried Sam down in the tunnels. She struggled to get back to Danny, but he refused to release her. He assured her that the life they shared would all come back to her. Then, he threw her on the table and bared his fangs again. She screamed as he bit her neck. Then, he wondered if she was starting to remember, but she was just dizzy. She said she felt strange. He told her it was time for her to leave this world and cross over into his and let her rest so she was ready for their final union. Later, he sprinkled rose petals on Sam, who was now in a wedding gown with her arms tied up. He then showed her a picture of them from their first wedding and told her to say goodbye to this life, that soon she would be born again and their minds would merge. He then leaned in to bite her for the third time but John stopped him just in time.

At the Quartermaine estate Tracy hid the key to the relish somewhere new. Duke watched from outside and called AJ and told him that he may have found an opening to get the Pickle-Lila jar. He entered the study and looked for the key until Tracy rushed in, wielding an umbrella. She recognized Duke and he told her that he was desperate for dirt on Luke. He wondered if he was still a factor with Anna. Tracy told him that Anna broke it off with Luke and said the love of her life was Duke. He grabbed Tracy for a hug and grabbed the key while they embraced. Then, he excused himself to use the bathroom and later showed himself out. Once, outside, he had the relish jar hidden in his jacket.

Steve was wheeled into the hospital and prepped for surgery as Olivia told Elizabeth what had happened. The doctor wouldn’t let Elizabeth or Olivia go with Steve, so Olivia took the stairs and AJ and Elizabeth went to the chapel. Elizabeth lit a candle and thought about her last conversation with Steve. She asked AJ to sit with her and he agreed, “all night long if that’s what it takes,” AJ told Elizabeth. Then, he offered to pray with her and told her that praying was how he recovered and stayed recovered. She then asked G-d for a miracle. Meanwhile, Olivia prayed for Steve and said that she’d been alone her whole life and it was supposed to be her time with Steve. Later, the doctor joined all of them by the nurse’s station and Olivia could tell the news was bad.

Heather went to Wyndemere to get Danny but Rafe Jr. refused to hand him over. She told him about her baby Steven Lars, how she loved him very much but she that couldn’t take care of him so she sold him. She added that she tried to make it up to him but it didn’t work. Rafe Jr. then told Heather how he loved his mom and failed her, like she failed her son. He told Heather how he and Alison were always on the move, how she thought there was an evil man after him and how he thought she was crazy. He added that had no friends and she would leave him alone in scary places. Then, she died because he wasn’t there to save her. Then, Heather grabbed him in a hug and told him that her own son could be dying as they spoke and all they could do was pray. She then dropped to her knees and begged for Steve to live.

Meanwhile, Lucy knocked herself out in the tunnels under Wyndemere. When she came to she was shocked to see Alison and apologized for failing her. Alison told her she was at peace now, that all her fear was gone and she was finally with her husband, Rafe Sr. She then told Lucy that it was up to her protect Rafe Jr. Then, Alison disappeared and Lucy was scared she couldn’t defeat Caleb. Then, she grabbed her weapon and begged G-d for help. Meanwhile, John rushed into the chamber just as Caleb went for Sam’s neck for a third time. Caleb insisted that she wanted this, that when he tasted her blood they would be reunited and then claim the boys upstairs together - and he was going to let John watch. Caleb went for Sam’s neck and John lunged at him with an axe. Caleb overtook him and choked him until John passed out. Caleb then told Sam to say goodnight to John as he sharpened his axe. Sam begged to G-d to help her and John from this evil. Suddenly, Lucy burst in.

At PCPD Anna called for her officers to canvas the city until they found Heather. She then wanted all of Clay’s records as well as contact with one of his doctors before he escaped from the mental institution. Alexis rushed in and asked Anna to help with Molly but Anna was too busy to deal with that. She told Alexis about Heather and Steve, then filled her in on escaped patient Stephen Clay, how after his wife Livvie died he suffered a psychotic break and was convinced he was actually vampire. She added that he then went on a killing spree and was locked up, but vanished from a locked room on Halloween at midnight. Later, Alexis admitted that her father forced her to give Sam up for adoption and that she didn’t raise her. Anna asked who Sam’s father was but Alexis got a call before she could answer. Later, Anna prayed to G-d to watch over Robin just before Heather turned herself in.

Monica and Tracy bickered about the relish at the Quartermaine estate. Monica reminded Tracy that AJ was in charge so she might as well hand it over to the people who could do something with it. Tracy agreed. She was going to take it to a lab to get a recipe, and left to get the relish jar. Soon Monica heard a blood-curdling scream. Tracy came back and accused AJ of taking it. She wanted to call the cops, but Monica reminded her that Duke was there earlier. Tracy said she didn’t think he even knew the relish existed. Monica begged Tracy to admit defeat. Tracy refused.

Alison watched over Rafe Jr. and Danny at Wyndemere. She urged him not to blame himself for her death. He asked her if Caleb was really his father and she admitted that he was, but although he was Caleb’s biological son, he is Rafe Sr’s true son. “Good always conquers evil,” she told him as she faded away and told him he wasn’t alone.

Under Wyndemere, Sam begged Caleb to release John as Lucy stormed in with a crossbow loaded with a silver-tipped arrow. They bickered while John and Sam both worked on their ropes. Caleb bared his fangs at Lucy, who said she had been waiting a long time for this. "Ta," she said and let the arrow fly. Caleb plucked the arrow out of the air and told Lucy to say goodbye. But, John broke free as Caleb made a final lunge at Lucy. John and Caleb fought while Lucy freed Sam. John was being overpowered until Sam called out to Caleb. It distracted him and it was enough for John to stab him in the gut. He then checked for a pulse, but he found none and declared it was over. Lucy asked if they saw how Caleb grabbed the arrow out of the air and if they believed her now. John then pulled fake fangs out of Caleb’s mouth and handed them to Lucy. “His real name was Stephen Clay. He isn’t immortal, just a man who lost his mind when his wife died,” John told a disbelieving Lucy. Sam hoped they were together in peace now and she and John went upstairs. Lucy stayed with Caleb, she was sure he was playing a game with her. She tried to grab his ring but it wouldn’t come off. She wanted to get the axe to cut it off until it hit her. He was just crazy and she wasn’t giving him one more day of her life. She had people who loved her and she was going back to them. Her time as a slayer was finished. She ran off. On his finger, Caleb’s ring glistened. Upstairs, Sam grabbed Danny and thanked Rafe Jr. for keeping him safe. John told him it was over and that Caleb was dead.

The doctor told Olivia that Steve’s wounds were severe but his prognosis was good. Elizabeth hugged AJ and Dante arrived to tell them that Heather was in custody after turning herself in. Olivia left to see Steve and Elizabeth thanks AJ for being there for her. Then, he took a call from Michael who asked him to come over. In his room Steve opened his eyes to Olivia. She told him that she prayed that he would be okay and he told her that he had an angel over him. Elizabeth joined them and wanted Steve to know how much she loved him and appreciated him. Meanwhile, Olivia told Dante she was still concerned about the dog vision. Later, Olivia wanted to get married right away.

Duke persisted at Michael’s door until he stopped kissing Starr and opened up. Duke handed over the relish jar and admitted he went to the estate with his story about getting Anna back and that Tracy had no idea the relish was missing but it wouldn’t be long before she did. AJ arrived and was ecstatic but they still needed the recipe. Starr said she could help. She knew how to reverse engineer and would start tomorrow. AJ felt good about the future of ELQ. Outside, he asked Duke not to come back to the office and keep his work relationship with ELQ under wraps.

AJ went home where Tracy accused him of stealing her relish. He acted shocked and swore he didn’t steal it. He went to bed while Tracy called Duke, who didn’t answer.
Spinelli and Ellie entered the lab a day early at the hospital so she could figure out the best way to navigate with her walker but soon Spinelli rushed off to meet Tracy about a job. Later, Michael, Starr and AJ came in with the relish and asked Ellie if she could help figure out the ingredients. AJ told her that his family’s legacy depended on it. She and Starr worked in the lab while AJ and Michael chatted outside.

Meanwhile, Sabrina was waiting to hear the hospital’s verdict about her future upstairs. Patrick assured her it would be fine. Britt came in, on crutches, with the board’s verdict. Sabrina learned that she was innocent and free to resume full duties. Britt was pissed and barred Sabrina from her patients anyway.

Olivia entered Steve’s room wearing a wedding gown. She told Steve that they could get married right there without Steve getting out of bed and that Maxie helped her with all the details.

Maxie told Frisco that she hadn’t heard from Britt. Then, Spinelli walked up as they were talking about the baby but didn’t hear anything. Maxie introduced Spinelli to Frisco, who was cold to Spinelli for breaking his daughter's heart. He wasn’t impressed with Spinelli but promised Maxie he would leave him alone. Later, Frisco spotted Britt while Maxie scooted to the wedding. It was obvious Frisco caused Britt's accident and he told her they were done when he told her they were done and there was still the issue of the nurse. Patrick saw Frisco and Britt talking and later asked Frisco how she got on his bad side. Britt gave him an excuse that it was about the baby but Patrick didn’t buy it.

Maxie went to Steve’s room and rushed off with Elizabeth to get her ready for the wedding. Sabrina came in to get Steve’s chart and finally admitted to both of them that she never had a crush on Steve and that she was too embarrassed to admit who her real crush was on. Olivia apologized for being such a bitch and advised her to tell the person she liked about her crush.

Spinelli got to the Quartermaine estate and Tracy told him that she needed to get her relish back, that Duke wouldn’t return her calls so that was why she called him. Then, Spinelli revealed that Duke works for ELQ and now she knew for sure AJ had the relish.

Mac and Felicia flirted at The Floating Rib and she ignored a call from Frisco. Soon Duke came in and chatted with Felicia while Mac went downstairs. He told her that he was working at ELQ but having problems with Tracy. Felicia felt sorry for Tracy and thought AJ just took ELQ from her. She added that Tracy has had to be abrasive to keep her place in the family and deserved more than she got. Then, she told Duke about her concerns about Frisco’s return. She added that she was avoiding telling Mac that Frisco wanted her back, that she tried to make it work before, but at her family’s expense. Duke then encouraged her to tell Frisco it was over – unless it wasn’t. Then, Frisco arrived and asked Felicia if she got his message. Duke left to meet Tracy and Mac overheard Frisco tell Felicia to get dressed up and meet him for dinner.

Duke went to the Quartermaine estate to meet Tracy. She told him that she thought AJ took the key and wanted Duke to steal it back. She then opened a case of cash and asked him to work for her, unless he had more profitable employment. Later, Spinelli came in from outside and Tracy asked him to spy on AJ and Duke and get the recipe as soon as they had it.

Back in the lab, Starr and Ellie worked on the relish compound while Michael and AJ chatted outside. When Elizabeth came by in her dress, AJ asked her out on a date. She agreed and he congratulated himself with a fist pump. Later, Duke joined AJ and Michael and told them that Tracy wanted him to find the relish.

Upstairs, Olivia and Steve exchanged their vows. Just as they were about to be pronounced man and wife, the Memphis police came to arrest Steve. Later, the nurse graduate list was posted, but Sabrina’s name wasn’t on it.
