Girls Aloud fans angry they chose to announce split on Twitter, Nadine Coyle says she 'had no part in any of this split business'

British girl band Girls Aloud has angered fans by their split, especially the fact that they chose to confirm it via Twitter.

On Wednesday night, they finished their Ten Tour in Liverpool when they didn’t waste any time posting the message that that would be their last performance together as a group.

Fans have reacted on Twitter, with one writing, "Girls Aloud announcing their split over twitter is a bit like dumping someone via text,” Entertainmentwise reports. Another wrote, "Would've been nice if Girls Aloud could confirm their split on stage and not Twitter. Even S Club 7 had the balls to do that."

One of the members, Nadine Coyle, has since taken to her own Twitter account to say she didn’t want to split but simply couldn’t stop the other girls from making the decision.

“You should know by now I had no part in any of this split business,” she wrote. “I couldn't stop them. I had the best time & want to keep going. Xxxx"
