The Goo Goo Dolls have announced that they will be releasing their tenth album on May 6 this year.
According to Music-news, they released an 11-track list of songs on the album Magnetic, saying it was recorded in New York, Los Angeles and London with some top-tier producers. Their first single is called “Rebel Beat,” and has already been released.
In a well-timed promotional show, the band is also booked for the Pimlico Race Track on May 17 in Maryland on the eve of the Preakness Stakes, part of the prestigious Triple Crown in horse racing. In a release from the Baltimore race track, they say the show will be the first time ever they will hold a concert on the track’s infield.
Frontman Joe Rzeznik says the new album will be “upbeat and fun.” This will be their first album since 2010.
The Goo Goo Dolls have been nominated for Grammys in 1998 and 2000 in the rock category. They have sold over ten million albums in their nine releases since 1987.
