Actress Halle Berry will once again don her caped, black leather jumpsuit and snowy white hair as the weather-controlling mutant, Storm, in the new X-Men movie titled Days of Future Past.
For a long time, Berry had been hesitating on whether or not she wanted to reprise her character. The Deccan Herald reported that the actress was “about 90 percent sure” she would sign on to the new X-Men film. Even director Bryan Singer couldn’t get a straight answer from the award-winning actress, saying, “I can't say. I don't know yet. And it's not necessarily a deal making aspect at all. I want to make sure it'll make sense. But I love working with her.”
Berry has been on a press round for her new thriller The Call and expressed a special fondness for her powerful X-Men character to AccessHollywood.com. “I love Storm,” she said. “That’s one of my favorite characters that I’ve played. And people love that character as well.” When asked about returning to fill that role, though, she said cagily, “I’m in. I think I’m in.”
Most recently Berry sat down with Black Tree TV and interviewer Jamaal Finkley asked her outright about her future plans. Finally Berry confirmed with a smile “Yeah, yeah, I’m really excited because the fans love Storm and I’m really happy that it’s worked out that way. I’m happy to be a part of it.”
The anticipated X-men movie now has an impressive returning cast including Hugh Jackman, Sir Ian McKellen, and Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence. Days of Future Past is set to start filming in April and will hit theaters in July 2014.
