Happy birthday to Bruce Willis, who turns 58 today.
Born on March 19, 1955, Bruce Willis is a versatile actor, appearing in over 60 movies and especially famous for his acting in numerous action movies, including the Die Hard franchise, The Fifth Element and Looper.
After appearing as minor roles in several television shows, Willis made his movie debut in Blind Date in 1987. This didn’t attract much attention from critics. A year later in 1988, Willis’s portrayal of the New York policeman John McClane in the film Die Hard caught people’s attention. The film was a big success and with two other installments of Die Hard later, Willis established his status as an action star.
In 1994, Willis played a supporting role in Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. Later he participated in the sci-fi thriller Twelve Monkeys and Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element. In 1998, Willis was in Michael Bay’s Armageddon, which was the highest grossing film worldwide of 1998.
In 1999, Willis proved himself more than an action star in M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller The Sixth Sense. He later appeared in different types of movies including the comedy The Whole Nine Yards, The Whole Ten Yards and drama Moonrise Kingdom.
Willis is a prolific actor. His upcoming films are G.I.Joe: Retaliation due out March 28, 2013, RED 2 to be released July 19, 2013, and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For due on Oct. 4, 2013.
