Bryan Cranston turns 57 today!
Born in Canoga Park, CA, Bryan Lee Cranston was born in a family of actresses and actors. His mother was a radio actress and his father was a Hollywood actor and producer.
He made his acting debut at a young age, acting in Granada Theater plays.
Although he appeared in several commercials, his parents, who were in show business, had mixed feelings about him on screen. That explained why Cranston appeared on-screen quite late.
Prior to his big break in Malcolm in the Middle as Hal, Malcolm's father, he appeared in Raising Miranda, soap opera Loving, Seinfeld, and Babylon 5.
He then appeared as one of the main roles in Malcolm in the Middle, for which he garnered three Emmy Awards.
After appearing in Malcolm in the Middle, he appeared in more movies and TV series, such as Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Flash, How I Met Your Mother, and Family Guy.
The American actor, from Irish descent, then landed a groundbreaking role in Breaking Bad as Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, and cooked drugs to portray his anger towards life. He earned three more Emmy Awards in three consecutive roles for his performance in this TV series.
Cranston then appeared in Hollywood movies, such as Academy Award-nominated Argo, a Total Recall remake, and A Princess of Mars adaptation John Carter. He also once lent his voice for animation Madagascar 3.
