Ellen Muth turns 32 today!
Born in Milford, Conn., Ellen Anna Muth debuted herself in the media by modeling.
While modeling, she began taking acting classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in NYC, which helped her to land her first professional roles in several commercials.
Her debut movie performance was in Dolores Claiborne, for which she earned Best Supporting Actress at the Tokyo Film Festival, followed by a role in the eighth season of Law and Order.
Muth, who grew up being a member of Intertel and Mensa, once had her performance acclaimed by NYT movie critics for her role in The Young and the Monsoon, for which she garnered a Best Newcomer Actress Performance Award from the American Film Institute.
Other than those mentioned, the American actress' movie credits include The Beat, The Ways of White Folks, and Don't Ask.
Her first lead role in a TV series was Bryan Fuller's Dead Like Me, where she played Georgia Lass, the main protagonist who helped in taking humans' lives with a group of other reapers. She garnered a Saturn Award and Satellite Award nomination for her performance.
The TV series was such a favorite that the production crew made a movie based on it, entitled Dead Like Me: Life After Death, featuring Muth as the main protagonist.
She is currently filming for another Bryan Fuller series, Hannibal.
