Julie Bowen turns 43 today!
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Julie Bowen Luetkemeyer began acting while she was a young adult.
During her college years, she landed roles in Pulitzer Prize Drama winner Guys and Dolls, Lemon Sky, and Stage Door.
Bowen made her prime-time debut in an episode of college drama, Class of '96, after she graduated from college.
The American actress then starred in Runaway, having Paul Rudd as her co-star, Happy Gilmore as Adam Sandler's love interest, ER, as Dr. Carter's girlfriend, and Knife Fight.
Bowen is a prominent actress for TV series. She garnered SAG Awards nominations for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for her roles in Boston Legal and Weeds.
Her most recent role was Modern Family, as a full-time mother/homemaker Claire Dunphy. She garnered three consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations in 2010, 2011, and 2012, for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and won the award for 2011, and 2012.
Other than acting, Bowen also took it behind the screen, and lent her voice in animation series Justice League.
Bowen is married to a real estate investor and software developer Scott Phillips. They have two sons together.
