Rachel Weisz turns 43 today!
Born in London, UK, Rachel Hannah Weisz started modeling at the age of 14.
Later that year, she got famous for turning down an offer to act along with Richard Gere.
Although she declined the offer, Weisz was still interested in acting.
She debuted her acting talent in various school productions during her years in Trinity College, even participated in the making of acting group Cambridge Talking Tongues.
After graduation, Weisz made her on-screen debut in the movie Advocates II. That, however, was not her big break.
She became internationally recognized when she acted in Chain Reaction altogether with Keanu Reeves and Morgan Freeman.
The actress then appeared in Stealing Beauty, a movie directed by an Italian, Academy Award-winner Bernardo Bertolucci. Her performance in the movie gained a nickname, "English Rose."
Daniel Craig's wife then appeared in more movies. Her film credits include historical movie Sunshine, About a Boy, The Runaway Jury, and her groundbreaking performance in The Constant Gardener, where she acted along with English actor Ralph Fiennes. She garnered an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, SAG Award, and a nomination for a BAFTA Award.
Other than movies, Weisz is also active in theatrical productions. Her role in Design for Living was critically acclaimed, therefore she appeared in more plays, such as Suddenly Last Summer, and A Streetcar Named Desire.
Before marrying Daniel Craig in a private ceremony, Weisz dated director and producer Darren Aronofsky. They had one child together.
