Harrison Ford joins the cast of 'Anchorman 2'

Harrison Ford is prepared to join the news team and bring some extra "classiness" to America as the Star Wars actor has signed on to join Anchorman 2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ford’s character will be something similar to iconic journalist Tom Brokaw.

Ford will join Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy former cast members Christina Applegate, Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner. Also new to the cast is the hilarious Kristin Wiig, who is rumored to star as the love interest of Carell’s character.

News that a sequel was in the works surfaced March 2012, and it is reportedly set to start filming in Atlanta this month.

In addition to his role in the Anchorman sequel, Ford recently signed on to reprise his role in Star Wars VII.

Written and directed by Adam McKay, Anchorman: The Legend Continues is set to hit theaters December 20, 2013.
