Heidi Klum will join 'America’s Got Talent' season 8 as a fourth judge

By Markirah Shaw,

After signing a last-minute deal, supermodel Heidi Klum, 39, will be joining the reality competition show America’s Got Talent as the fourth and final judge. Sitting alongside her will be returning judges Howie Mandel and Howard stern and fellow newcomer Mel B.

News of Klum’s new role on the show broke when TMZ published a photo of the AGT set construction showing Klum’s name underneath her own audition-halting X and buzzer.

At the end of last season, judge Sharon Osbourne made a dramatic exit in protest of her son Jack, 27, being fired from another NBC show called Stars Earn Stripes after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The search for a new judge ended last month when former Spice Girls member Mel B joined AGT as Osbourne’s replacement. It was assumed that the judging panel was complete until TMZ’s exclusive update today.

Heidi Klum has had previous experience as a reality TV judge. She has been on the judging panel of Project Runway, a fashion design competition show, for eleven out of thirteen seasons.

Klum will be making AGT history by being the fourth judge on the panel that - for seven seasons - only ever had three celebrity judges. The Hollywood Reporter states that NBC will officially announce Klum’s appointment on Monday.
