Honey Boo Boo Girl Scout Cookie sales stopped by organization

By Sarah Burbank-Douglas,

Honey Boo Boo took her celebrity status and attempted to sell Girl Scout Cookies online. The problem? The reality star is not a Girl Scout.

According to Business Insider, 7-year-old Alana Thomson (known to many as simply ‘Honey Boo Boo’) posted an ad on her Facebook to sell the delicious cookies for a friend, which drew in hundreds of comments and more than 400 boxes of cookies sold.

June posted a message on Facebook which included a picture of the cookies all packed up writing, “All cookies that have been paid for have been shipped! All boxes r autographed by the family & includes autograph family pic :)”

However, Girl Scouts reached out and made her remove the ad, TMZ reports, as selling the cookies online is forbidden and takes away from the learning process which helps teach people skills and goals.

The organization has agreed to ship the boxes already sold, but are not allowing any more.

Honey Boo Boo’s mama June maintains that they did nothing wrong.
