Former tennis champ Jennifer Capriati might be on the receiving end of an arrest warrant after she allegedly assaulted former boyfriend Ivan Brannan at a Palm Beach gym.
North Palm Beach County police issued the arrest warrant, with the charge of battery and stalking, relating to the incident at the Oxygen Health and Fitness gym, the Daily Mail reported.
Capriati reportedly got into a heated argument with Brannan near a men's locker room in the gym on February 14, and she was accused of hitting him in the chest. Brannan then ran to the locker room and dialed 911.
She fled the scene, but the police stopped her few miles away. At that time, the 36-year-old tennis champion was allowed to go.
Brannan, a former Florida State University golfer, told the authorities that Capriati called his workplace more than a hundred times a day. She also sped through a security gate in his apartment building after the security denied her request to be let in.
He asked for a restraining order against Capriati, but the judge declined.
Capriati's lawyer, Steve Sessa, said that at the moment, there had been no arrest warrant released, because the case had not been assigned or reviewed, TMZ reported.
"The current facts being circulated by Mr. Brannan are an over exaggeration and the police report is one-sided in Mr. Brannan’s favor since they failed to get Ms. Capriati’s side of the story," the lawyer's statement read.
