While Joan Rivers is known for her sharp tongue and celebrity insults, a recent jab at Heidi Klum has caused some criticism.
On Monday’s episode of her television show “Fashion Police,” made a harsh jab at Klum regarding her German heritage.
"The last time a German looked this hot was when they were pushing Jews into the ovens," Rivers said on the E! show.
Rivers refuses to apologize about the comment, telling omg! Insider that Klum didn’t take offense to the statement.
“Apologizing for what? For what?! … Heidi didn't mind it. That's the joke, Heidi Klum didn't mind it. We didn't mind it," Rivers said to omg! Insider. "So somebody else minded, you know, then don't watch ‘Fashion Police.’ Next.”
The comedian added that by making jokes about the Holocaust, she is reminding people of the event in history.
“It’s a joke. This is the way I remind people about the Holocaust, I do it through humor,” Rivers said on HLN’s "Showbiz Tonight."
“My husband lost his entire family in the Holocaust, so let’s just start with that.”
