John Mayer and Katy Perry split...again

John Mayer and Katy Perry have called it quits for the second time.

Sources close to the couple confirm to Us Weekly that the on-again off-again couple have called it quits once more, noting that this split may not be long-lasting. "It's sad. It's not over until it's over. You have to see how things play out," a source explains.

A source close to the “Wide Awake” singer adds, “She's leaving the window open.”

Although it is unclear what caused the couple to call it quits, another source notes, “They have both been so focused on work."

Perry and Mayer previously split back in August after dating briefly over the summer.

Last month, Mayer opened up about his relationship with the brunette beauty, saying that their relationship was ”very human”. This was the first time Mayer opened up about his relationship with Perry, explaining that in previous relationships he was a “jerk,” most notably for her comments about his sex life with Jessica Simpson.

Mayer and Perry have not commented on the split.
