Jon Hamm asked to wear underwear on set of 'Mad Men' due to tight '60s-style pants, reports say

Jon Hamm has reportedly been asked to wear underwear, due to the tightness of his pants he wears while filming AMC’s Mad Men.

Apparently the ‘60s style pants were too much for Hamm, who often goes commando while filming.

“This season takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination,” a source told NY Daily News’ Confidential. “Jon’s impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear.”

The actor has been asked by one of the members of the staff to make sure he’s wearing underwear when he’s on set. And this reportedly isn’t the first time the staff has had to address issues with his private region. The hit show’s marketing team had to photoshop some promo shots of Hamm that revealed a bit too much down there.

“His privates are the inside joke,” said the source, adding that the actor “knows what he’s got.”

However, a rep for Hamm wasn’t amused. “It is ridiculous and not really funny at all. I’d appreciate you taking the high road and not resorting to something childish like this that’s been blogged about 1,000 times,” said the rep.

But the source insists, “Everyone was concerned about too much Christina Hendricks boob, but it's Jon that has the most to show. It's a good problem to have," Us Weekly reports.

The Season 6 premiere of Mad Men will take place on April 7 at 9pm, and it lasts two hours.
