Josh Duhamel says ‘it was the right time’ to have baby with Fergie

Baby rumors have surrounded Josh Duhamel and Fergie since they got married, but now that the two are finally expecting, he says it couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Safe Haven star told E! News that the two are very excited, considering having a baby is something “they’ve wanted for a very long time.”

“This was the right time for us,” he adds. "We’re both just over the moon about it.”

He also said Fergie is taking on pregnancy just fine, saying she’s “handling it beautifully.”

Playing a dad in Safe Haven won't be the only practice Duhamel will have with kids, as he’s set to host the Kids' Choice Awards this Saturday.

Duhamel, who told Glamour they know the baby’s gender but aren’t going to reveal it, also told the magazine he’s excited about his upcoming hosting duties.

“I can’t believe it!” he said. “Sometimes I feel like I’m over my head.”

Judging by his hilarious promos, we’re sure the future dad will do just fine.
