Katie Holmes talks life, love and her future in Allure magazine interview

Katie Holmes stuns in the April issue of Allure. The actress opened up about dating, a new career path and living life as a single mother in New York.

Holmes, who endured a very public divorce from actor Tom Cruise, admits that she hopes this year is “peaceful,” Huffington Post reports. Following her divorce, Holmes moved from film in the hopes of returning to the stage in a big way in Dead Accounts, unfortunately the show closed seven weeks early in January.

“I was open to –- well, to whoever wanted me," Holmes notes of her role. "But it was always my goal to make it back to the stage."

During her photo shoot for the magazine, the 34-year-old actress admits that she isn’t beyond the possibility of giving 6-year-old daughter Suri a sister. "I'm open to it,” she admits.

Moving on from her rough year in 2012, Holmes noted in her video interview that she is ready to find things that make her happy. "I'm hoping to find other things that make me feel good about myself. I hope this is a peaceful year for a lot of people in the world,” she explains. “When you look back on the last year, there were a lot of tragedies -- Hurricane Sandy, the Connecticut shooting. I just hope it's a good year for everyone."

Holmes currently has two projects in the works - an untitled Christian Camargo project as well as costarring in Responsible Adults.
