Katy Perry and Russell Brand to go head to head in memoirs

Katy Perry is officially writing her own memoir, which will tell all about the “truth” about the divorce. This news comes just one month after news of Russell Brand’s memoir Booky Wook, which also promises to talk about the divorce, came out.

Capital FM confirmed Brand’s third memoir back in late February. The actor admitted that his book would likely cover his divorce with Perry and stated, “You can't write things about your life and not include things that happened in your life.”

And now The Huffington Post has reported that Perry signed a $2 million book deal to publish her side of the story. The book will also cover her current relationship with John Mayer.

A source told the Sun, “Several publishers have been after Katy for a while. She decided to go ahead so fans don't have a one-sided story when Russell publishes another Booky Wook,” according to CTV News. Perry has certainly not been shy about speaking about the divorce, though, and apparently opened up about the separation in her movie, Katie Perry: Part of Me.
