Fans of Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell are going to see them together frequently over the next year. The two hilarious actors will be starring in Anchorman: The Legend Continues and must have liked each other so much that they’ve signed on for an indie comedy titled Welcome To Me.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ferrell and Wiig, both Saturday Night Live alumni, will star in the film directed by Anchorman director Adam McKay’s wife, Shira Piven. She recently directed Fully Loaded.
Welcome To Me was written by Eliot Laurence (The Big Gay Sketch Show) and focuses on a woman with dissociative personality disorder. She wins the lottery and uses the money to get a cable access show to talk about her life.
The film will be produced under Ferrell and McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions banner with Jessica Elbaum.
Wiig joined Anchorman 2 last month and production is already underway. The film. also stars Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate and Harrison Ford. Paramount is set to release the film on Dec. 20.
