Seth MacFarlane is gathering an all-star cast for his Western comedy A Million Ways To Die, his follow-up to last year’s Ted. Liam Neeson is the latest star linked to the project.
According to sources for The Hollywood Reporter, Neeson, who recently starred in Taken 2 and has suddenly become an action star, is in talks to play a villain role. He’ll star as Charlize Theron’s outlaw husband.
A Million Ways To Die is reportedly going to be a Western comedy in the same vein as Mel Brooks’classic Blazing Saddles. MacFarlane wrote the script with his Ted collaborators, Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. He will direct and star.
MacFarlane will play a sheep farmer, whose girlfriend (Amanda Seyfried) runs off with another man. He meets Theron’s character and when her husband arrives (Neeson), he has to put his newfound courage to the test.
THR notes that Giovanni Ribisi (Gangster Squad) has joined also joined the film.
Neeson is currently filming Paul Haggis’ The Third Person and is lending his voice to the animated films The Nut Job and Lego.
