On March 9, 1997, Notorious B.I.G. was murdered, creating shockwaves in the music community. While fans lost an icon, many musicians lost a colleague and dear friend —including Lil' Kim.
According to MTV, in her appearance on Rap Fix Live, UGK rapper Bun B asked Lil' Kim how she is coping with B.I.G.’s death; she revealed the scars are only recently starting to heal.
"Bun B, that's a very tough question because it took me so long — super long to deal with the loss of a person who was such a huge impact in my life," she responded.
March 9 is acknowledged throughout the music community as a day to celebrate B.I.G.’s musical legacy. Lil’ Kim has refused every year to make any sort of public appearances on March 9. However, This is SOHH reported that yesterday she went to a celebratory tribute to B.I.G. at club Glazz.
"That's my first event ever on March 9 …" Lil' Kim said. "I never celebrate that day. It's so funny because I can always feel when that day is approaching. I get so depressed. I get so sad. It happens before March, in February. I can feel it coming and I used to all say 'no …” I'm just now getting over that fact, and it's how many years later.
